125 Years. Countless Memories. One Como.

Get ready! 2027 marks the 125th anniversary of Como Golf Course, and we’re gearing up for a year-long celebration of its legacy, traditions, and incredible community.

A volunteer-led committee is currently developing a series of events and special moments that will showcase our history and highlight everything that makes Como Golf Course unique today. From heritage-focused activities to unforgettable member experiences, this milestone will be celebrated in style.

For 125 years, our fairways have been shaped by generations of golfers whose passion, sportsmanship, and love of the game built the traditions we proudly carry forward. This anniversary is a chance not only to reflect on our origins, but to honour the spirit, pride, and camaraderie that continue to define Como Golf Course. It is a moment to celebrate where we've been, who we are, and the legacy we’re building for the next century and beyond.

Como 125th Anniversary Committee Mission Statement

The mission of the Como 125th Anniversary Committee is to ensure that Como’s 125th Anniversary celebration offers both current and past members an opportunity to enjoy a memorable 2027 golf season while also deepening their appreciation of the rich history of Como Golf Club.

A key focus of the committee’s work is the collection of historical information, documents, photographs, and stories that will help preserve and share Como’s heritage with the broader Como community.

In parallel, the committee is planning a range of activities to mark this important milestone. These may include a commemorative golf tournament, a gala weekend celebration, and special themed giveaways for Como members throughout the anniversary season.

The committee will work closely with the Como Board, club staff, and other key members of the Como community to help plan and deliver a 125th Anniversary celebration worthy of the club’s remarkable history.

Committee Members

Peter Charron – Co-Chair and History

Peter joined Como after moving to Hudson eight years ago and quickly became an early volunteer with what has since become the Timberwolves. He plays golf — by his own admission, badly — at least three times a week with Hardy Rocks, Twilight, and a regular Tuesday group. He is also proudly known as the official dresser of the Twilight Dream Team. Over the years, Peter has built many great friendships at Como and developed a deep appreciation for the club’s unique lifestyle. He is especially looking forward to helping put Como’s storied history on record and working with the committee to make the 125th Anniversary one for the record books.

Harold Drupals – Co-Chair and Communications

Harold’s first introduction to Como came through the Timberwolves, where he quickly discovered that Como can be just as lively during the winter months as it is during golf season. Now in his fourth year as a proud Como member, Harold is also part of the Twilight Dream Team and is enthusiastic about helping organize the 125th Anniversary celebrations in 2027.

Mena Johnston – Secretary

Known by many for her talent in garden design and decoration, Mena is also affectionately recognized around the club as “Menapedia” — the person who either knows the answer or knows exactly who does. As secretary of the committee, she brings that same resourcefulness and good humour to the group, while joking that she still has one more year to fully define her role.

Anne Dorion – Promotions and Special Events

Anne has been a proud Como member for the past seven years. She has represented Como in interclub competition for the last five years and regularly participates in club leagues. She is currently co-running the ladies league and is committed to fostering a welcoming, competitive, and engaging environment for fellow members.

Tom Litchfield – Trophies and Promotions

Tom has been a Como member since 2016 and is also a member of the Twilight Dream Team. Before joining this committee, he gained valuable event organization experience through his work at Pointe-Claire Curling Club. Tom’s approach is simple: he is ready to do whatever is needed to help make the 125th Anniversary celebration a success.

Bryan Fritz – Official Photographer and Special Projects

Bryan has been a proud member of Como Golf Club since 2004. An avid golfer whose enthusiasm often exceeds his skill level, he is always interested in testing whether a new set of clubs might finally improve his game. Over the years, he has served the club as Membership Director, Secretary, and assistant to several Captains. Outside of golf, photography is his main hobby, and he has documented many important club events through his lens.

Patricia Quesnel – Club Liaison and 125th Advisor

Patricia has served as Clubhouse Manager at Como since 2022 and acts as the lead staff liaison for the 125th Anniversary Committee. A golfer herself, she continues the ongoing search for the perfect swing while helping ensure strong coordination between the committee and club operations.

Carolyn Thall – Treasurer

Carolyn is an avid golfer and Como member who also brings valuable anniversary planning experience from her involvement at Pointe-Claire Curling Club, where she served as treasurer on the club’s 100th Anniversary Committee.

Amanda Fritz – Special Advisor, Social Media

Amanda has served as a Como Golf Club Board Member since 2024 and took up golf three years ago. She is currently working — through determination and a strong appreciation for Como’s community spirit — to bring her handicap below 25. She supports the committee on social media, website content, and sponsorship-related matters, drawing on her professional background in fundraising.
